This competition entry aims at repositioning the aspirational and communal role of a library by encouraging individual enlightenment and foster community sharing.

The building form follows the flow of the surrounding urban context: the park, major road junctions and the church. Facade louvers are aligned to allow sunlight during winter, provide shade during summer and opens up the vista to the public to blend in the community. The design inspires the users by producing a transcending display of light and shadow with the playful placement of external double-layered facade and internal ‘bamboo courtyards’.
